BECOME A MEMBER
Becoming a ScootGB member allows you to enter any applicable ScootGB event throughout the year for which your membership is valid. Please note that park fees may still apply.
Every ScootGB membership contributes to our continued efforts to support scootering and allows us to work towards building and expanding upon the UKs competitive scene.
PARK Beginners
The Beginners category has been developed to allow riders without any competition experience to get involved with our events.
The only skill based criteria for this category is that riders must be competent in riding their scooter without assistance, and should have at least a few hours worth of skatepark experience.
Riders in this category will not qualify for our finals. They compete in a one off competition at our qualifiers.

PARK Novice
Riders in the Novice category should be new to competition and be of a NOVICE level in the sport.
Riders in this category should be beginning to get to grips with flow, consistency and amplitude but have not yet mastered them. They should not be performing multiple high level tricks in their runs.
Riders in this category are prohibited from having any sponsors.
Riders deemed above novice level will be moved up to Intermediate level (this could be before or after a run takes place. Judges / ScootGB staff word is final where this is concerned).
Riders in this category can qualify at only one regional stop each year.

PARK Intermediate
The Intermediate category is for any rider that rides at a level above NOVICE and / or has competition experience.
Riders in this category may have a sponsorship but must not have a Junior or PRO level contract.
Riders in this category can qualify and compete at any regional stop.
Once you enter INTERMEDIATE you cannot move back down to NOVICE unless ScootGB staff deem you to have been in the wrong category.

PARK Junior Pro
The Junior Pro category is specifically for riders with a brand / hardware sponsor and are aged 17 years old or under.
Riders in this category can qualify and compete at any regional stop.
Riders in this category are considered for selection in the Junior Pro UK National Team for international World Skate scootering events.
Once you enter JUNIOR PRO you cannot move back down to INTERMEDIATE unless ScootGB staff deem you to have been in the wrong category.
You must advance to PRO once aging out of this category.

PARK Pro Men
The Pro Men’s category is specifically for riders with a brand / hardware sponsor or those who are riding at a high level beyond intermediate.
Riders in this category can qualify and compete at any regional stop.
Riders in this category are considered for selection in the Park Pro Men’s UK National Team for international World Skate scootering events.
Once you enter PRO you cannot move back down to other categories unless ScootGB staff deem you to have been in the wrong category.

PARK Girls & Women
These categories are for the female riders in the sport.
Riders in these categories do not need to qualify. They go to straight to finals held at the PARK finals.
NOVICE GIRLS
Riders in the Novice Girls category should be new to competition and be of a NOVICE level in the sport.
Riders in this category should be beginning to get to grips with flow, consistency and amplitude but have not yet mastered them. They should not be performing multiple high level tricks in their runs.
Riders in this category are prohibited from having any sponsors.
Riders deemed above NOVICE level will be moved up to OPEN women’s (this could be before or after a run takes place. Judges / ScootGB staff word is final where this is concerned).
OPEN/PRO WOMEN’S
Riders in the Open/Pro Women’s category are considered for selection in the Park Pro Women’s UK National Team for international World Skate scootering events.

STREET AM & PRO
These categories are for the STREET riders in the sport.
Riders in these categories do not need to qualify. They go to straight to finals held at the STREET finals.
STREET AM
Riders in the STREET Amateur category should be new to competition and be of an AMATEUR level in the sport.
Riders in this category should be beginning to get to grips with grinds, consistency and technical manoeuvres but have not yet mastered them. They should not be performing multiple high level grinds and combos in their runs.
Riders in this category are prohibited from having any sponsors.
Riders deemed above Amateur level will be moved up to the STREET PRO level (this could be before or after a run takes place. Judges / ScootGB staff word is final where this is concerned).
STREET PRO
Riders in this category are considered for selection in the Street Junior Pro and Pro Men’s UK National Teams for international World Skate scootering events.
Once you enter PRO you cannot move back down to AMATEUR unless ScootGB staff deem you to have been in the wrong category.

Common questions
Who can compete?
Any scooter rider of any ability who is a British National.
How do I sign up for a qualifier?
Buying a membership and selecting the region you wish to qualify in will sign you up for that qualifier.
For riders who are not in the Novice category and want to take part in further qualifiers you will need to let us know while checking in with ScootGB at the event that it isn’t your first qualifier of the year.

How do the age categories work?
Your category is determined by your age / school year (to those to who it applies) as of 1st September of each year.
As of September 1st:
- England/Wales Year 6 and below = 10 and under
- England/Wales Year 7, 8 & 9 = 13 and under
- England/Wales Year 10 and above = 14 plus
What disciplines do you cater for?
We hold competitions for both the street and park disciplines.
How long does my membership last?
Our membership runs on a seasonal basis, and lasts from the start of the first event of the season, through to the last day of the finals. Due to the nature of the sport, these dates can and will change year on year. However, its is likely to run April to September.
What happens if I'm in the wrong category?
If you're found to be in the wrong category during the competition, for example, if you enter into Novice and should be in Intermediate, the judges say is final and you will notified, moved and ranked in the correct category.
